The recording itself is not of the highest fidelity, as there is a bit of compression to the speech but it is plenty clear for all sorts of streaming purposes, including outdoor shooting.
In terms of audio quality, the Razer Seiren BT is fairly decent. So, if you ever want to use sidetone to manage your audio levels, you’ll have to sacrifice using a windsock, which may not be ideal if you are recording in a busy area.
But if you plan to use any of the provided windsocks with the mic, you will not be able to plug in your earphones because the sock goes directly on top of it, restricting access to the port itself. The port is primarily meant to provide sidetone functionality while recording. I am not sure why Slack would show a network issue when using a mic, but when I disconnected the Seiren BT from my mobile device, I faced no issues whatsoever.Īnother problem that I should point out is with the placement of the 3.5mm port on the top of the device. I did, however, tried using the mic on Slack to video chat with a colleague, and it seemed to work but I faced constant network disconnections for as long as the mic was connected. I hope Razer considers one in the future as it would open up the Seiren BT to a lot more uses than just streaming.

This issue could have been circumvented if Razer provided a separate camera app with Bluetooth support, much like how DJI and other manufacturers do. However, even if it does work, the lack of app support will mean that you will be locked out of the noise suppression features at the very least. I am not sure if the mic will function if you are using a compact camera with Bluetooth compatibility as I did not have one at hand to give that a try. Both iOS and Android’s native camera apps do not support Bluetooth sources, as such you will not be able to use the Seiren BT while recording even if it is connected to the mobile device.

If you are an offline vlogger however, the Seiren BT is pretty much useless. Razer makes it clear that the Seiren BT is specifically meant for streaming only, and that is possible to do so with apps that support Bluetooth mics like the Streamlabs for iOS and Android.
The app also has a Quick Connect feature that allows you to switch between different Bluetooth audio sources, and a Low Latency mode for mobile game streaming that lets you hear the game’s audio as well as use the mic to talk to your audience. You can choose between Off, Low, and High based on the environment you are recording the audio in. One of the key features is the AI Mic, which lets you select the level of noise suppression applied to the audio. From the app, you can adjust the mic gain sensitivity, enable sidetone, mute the mic on/off, and check the battery percentage. The app is a crucial part of the device as it allows you to tinker with a variety of settings to set up the audio to your preferences. Setting up the mic is easy, simply pair it with your mobile device, and then add the device to the Razer Streaming app, and off you go. The device also comes with two different kinds of windsocks - one is a standard foam sock to reduce popping noises in an indoor setting, and the other is a fur sock to reduce wind noises when capturing audio outdoors. On the left there is a power button that also doubles as a pairing button when held for a few seconds, and at the bottom there is a USB-C charging port. On the top of the device, you will find a 3.5mm jack to plug in your headphones for sidetone, as well as a microphone grill.
At just 14.5g, it’s also fairly light and can be clipped onto your shirt or collar without weighing it down too much. It’s a small, rectangular microphone with a sturdy steel construction, and an understated all-black design that should gel with most outfits. The Seiren BT is purposefully simple in its design, and it’s meant to get out of the way as much as possible once you have it set up.
